Wireless laptop chargers are now possible with the conception of
witricity. Witricity was devised by a team of researchers from
MIT where it was made possible to transmit electricity across a
distance to the receiving unit without using any wires or
cables.
For a wireless laptop charger to charge a laptop, it is
necessary that the receiving charger has a receiver coil built
in it. If there is no receiver coil in it, it should at least
have an adaptor that is clipped on its back to make it possible
for the wireless laptop charger to charge the laptop.
With wireless laptop chargers placed in hotel rooms and in your
home, there will be no need of you carrying your charger along
with you wherever you go. All you have to do is to place your
laptop on the wireless laptop charger, where the laptop just
starts licking up the electric energy the charger emits.
Wireless laptop chargers work on the principle of
electromagnetic induction to charge devices. Two copper coils
are oscillated at a common and stipulated frequency while
trading energy in an electromagnetic field. Here one of these
coils is found in the wireless laptop charger while the other,
in the laptop.
The wireless laptop charger also has a regulator with which it
is possible to adjust the amount of power that is supplied to
the laptop, so that it is charged sufficiently. Moreover with
regulators in different laptops, it is possible to use a single
wireless laptop charger to charge all laptops at once while
adjusting power requirements for the individual laptops.
